An industrial interaction program was held by "Aarohan"

Aarohan,a students Association for Industrial Interface of Department of Business Administration of Gauhati University on 1st October 2005 at Phanidhar Dutta Memorial Seminar Hall of Gauhati University.

The program was kicked started with lamp lighting ceremony by Mr. KP.John Kutty (DGM, Banking, Reserve Bank of India, Guwahati) accompanied by Mr. Siddhartha Bardoloi (Branch Manager, Tata-AIG) and Dr. U.R. Dhar (HOD, Dept. of Business Administration, GU). It was followed by the release of Placement Brochure of the department by the Vice-Chancellor Dr. G.N. Talukdar.

Several speakers from various sectors like Banking, Insurance etc. spoke on numerous issues.

The programme was followed by an interaction session with alumni Deepanjan Konwar, (Principal Head, D. Konwar & Associates) and Dhiman Rakshit, Branch Manager, Sony India Pvt. Ltd.

The program was a novel effort by "Aarohan".


Briefings of the Speeches:


» Dr. G.N. Talukdar (VC, Gauhati University) spoke about the achievements of the students of the Department in corporate world.
   
» Dr. U. R. Dhar (HOD, DBA, GU) talked at length about "Aarohan" being founded by students of the Department for encouraging industrial interaction. Corporate houses recognize the department as one of the premier business institutes of this region.
   
» Mr. K.P.Johan Kutty (DGM, RBI) elaborated on the Financial Sector Reforms in India. He described the problems in the Indian Economic Scenario in the post 1991 years and also about the steps taken by the Narashimha Committee to overcome them.
   
» Mr. Siddhrtha Bardoloi (Branch Manager, TATA-AIG) told about the emerging challenge in Non-Life insurance sector.
   
» Mrs. Vandana Minda (Branch Head, Standard Chartered Bank), an alumni of the department, stressed on Marketing and Finance as the two emerging sector for management students.
   
» Mr. Shantanu Phukan (Branch Manager, LG) spoke on the fact that building a good rapport is necessary for sale in North East India.
